Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Minna Wagner

October 5, 1865 · Munich

Overview

Wagner's last letter to Minna: he has not read her latest letter, having resolved since her depressing letter of the spring not to embitter his heart, and asks her to send any practical needs through Pusinelli.

Letter

Dear Minna!

Pardon the delay this time: it shall not happen again. My request was not carried out.

I have not yet read your letter: since your letter of last spring which depressed me so shamefully, I have decided not to embitter my heart and my memories unnecessarily.

If you have something to tell me which needs to be taken care of, ask Pusinelli to tell me about it. I shall always do everything in my power to console you.

Cordial greetings from your
Richard W.
