Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Ernst Benedikt Kietz

October 19, 1841 · Paris

Overview

Believing the Dresden tenor Tichatschek, his hoped-for Rienzi, to be in Paris, Wagner asks Kietz to track him down through Anders at Schlesinger's and notify him at once.

Letter

My good Kietz,

I believe Tichatschek must be in Paris now; so it seems to me. Be good enough to find out! Inquire from Anders among others at Schlesinger's. If you discover him, I hardly need tell you how important it is to me to be notified at once. On Sunday I hope to see you?
