Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Ernst Benedikt Kietz

October 23, 1840 · Paris

Overview

Written days before his imprisonment for debt, Wagner asks Kietz to bring along his uncle Fechner, signing himself with a line from Rienzi, on which he was then working, and asks him to invite Pecht too.

Letter

If you will favor us with a call today, try to persuade your uncle to come along. I don't know his address, otherwise I'd take the liberty of writing to him.
