Monday, April 5:
Feelings of great nausea and worries about the redecorations. I spent the day on the sofa, listening to R. going through Das Rheingold with Richter, and embroidering.
R. himself is very unwell; the trouble has so upset us both. I realize that we can indeed live only for and with each other; all contact with the outside world, however friendly the go-between, is harmful to us.
In the evening read a little of Charmides, but did not get far. At 1 o’clock our good Richter made his departure.
