Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of July 9, 1871

Overview

Heat and a good working day for Richard coincide with Cosima's letter to Hartmann about a play that has not pleased him. The Emperor's refusal to engage religious controversy disappoints them. A gay garden lunch gives way to Cosima's weather-induced illness and continued pleasure in Frederick the Great.
