Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of September 17, 1870

Overview

Cosima writes to her mother and Claire, teaches the children, and shops for Fidi and Loulou. The household is mostly healthy, the weather clears, and outside news temporarily falls silent. In that pause, she records a rare interval of love and harmony while praying for those who suffer elsewhere.

Saturday, September 17:

Wrote to my mother and to Claire. Taught the children, then shopping for Fidi’s wardrobe and for Loulou’s birthday. Everybody is in fairly good health, thank God, and the sky is clearing. Nothing from outside, and inside reign love and harmony! God bless all who are suffering.
