Much indisposition, even I laid up; the children splendid, however, God is with them, and when I can do no more, He takes over! They are under His protection, so how can there be trouble?

Visit from Rubinstein, cheerful conversation. He tries out the pianino and plays the Don Giovanni Overture; R. interrupts him, saying the allegro is too fast, it should not be rattled off. He reads Sch.’s Parerga.
