Sunday, August 17:
R. slept well, but he is tired and complains of tightness in his chest and an inflamed throat. The doctor, whom I question about this, feels it is not good for R. to take such long walks as the one he took yesterday; he talks of overtiring the heart.
Eva's condition is good; the weather is still fine. R. has a bridge put up, so that the children have a direct route to us from the Riedelsberg. In the evening we drive out to the children, after they have had lunch with us as usual and then immediately left.
Concern that R. should not speak; he looks worn out. However, he tells me the story of Fuj Bias, which he has just been reading; grotesque stuff, but good theater.
