Thursday, April 24:
R. slept tolerably well and goes with pleasure to his work; yesterday he said he now knew exactly what to do. I have things to do in Wahnfried. (Visit erroneously entered for yesterday.) Having lost some time through our friend’s visit, I tidy the salon after she has left, so that R. can use it again this evening, and once more I experience how a consideration like this can dispel tiredness and improve one’s strength.
We thoroughly enjoy our evening in the salon; R. reads me Carlyle’s latest essay, on Dr. Francia; both subject and treatment highly interesting. Concern about Fidi, who is complaining of a headache.
