Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of February 21, 1879

Overview

R. wakes well and soon reveals that he has found a passage he has been seeking, singing the Gurnemanz words with evident joy. The happiness is shadowed by memories of difficult times in Vienna and by the writer’s own earache and toothache, which complicate her wish to travel and leave the evening subdued.
