Diary Entry of April 13, 1878
After completing his article, Wagner felt worn down and complained of physical pain, despite reassurance from a visitor that he looked youthful. The day ended with concern that he had overstrained himself, even as the work itself seemed to be concluded.
Saturday, April 13:
R. finishes his article and reads it to us in the evening; the work has tired him and he does not feel entirely well, he complains of lumbago.
Although Baron Seydlitz, who happens to be here on a visit, says that he looks ever younger, I feel some concern.
