Alone together again; R. says I am all he wants for company. I have quite a lot to attend to with the children, worry about Siegfried, who seems to me much too soft!
In the evening Dr. Harrer from London, bringing the gift from the German Society there (photographs of the Sistine Chapel). He tells us finally that he wants to give up his medical career and become an opera singer, which highly exasperates R. (Parrot has escaped!)
