Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of July 19, 1877

Overview

Rain set a subdued tone, and a return visit to Tribschen showed it altered and overgrown, almost as if the past had already moved on without them. The gloomy weather and quiet visits reinforced the sense that those earlier days were finished.

Visit from the Stockers. The sky remains gloomy, as if we were being told not to grieve that the Tribschen days are past.
