Saturday, March 31:
For R., all too many London problems, which I actively share to the extent that I have to write the letters; Herr Unger sluggish, alarmed by having to learn Tristan! Problems with orchestra parts, nobody yet sure where to obtain them all. And Messrs. Hodge and Essex are getting nervous about the costs. But music at home nevertheless - Hungaria and Fasso; in the minuet of the latter my father says, "What is proper."
Easter Sunday, April 1:
No church for me on account of preparations for the evening, for which I have invited about 200 Bayreuth people. It comes off very well, since my father is kind enough to play Saint Francois de Paule marchant sur les flots and R. is in good spirits.
