Overview

After dinner with Frau von Wohrmann and Lenbach, they departed at three o’clock and headed home. The children’s excitement built all the way, Siegfried improvising an English scene, and their arrival after eleven was greeted with torches and exuberant celebration.

Wednesday, December 20:

Dinner at Frau v. Wohrmann’s with Lenbach, departure at 3 o’clock. The children become increasingly lively the nearer we get; Siegfried improvises a scene in English, and the jubilation when we arrive knows no bounds. There at 11 o’clock in the evening. Welcome with torches, etc.!!
