Before leaving Rome, there was time for visits to Santa Maria degli Angeli and Santa Maria Maggiore, followed by one final view over the city from the Colonna gardens. The party departed at 11 o'clock and reached Florence by 9 in the evening, settling at the Hotel du Nord.
