Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of November 8, 1876

Overview

Bad weather forced her into a long round of errands for the children’s clothes before the evening’s outing to a French theater. Tes Danicheff did not impress them much, since the French sounded oddly thin in the play’s emotional scenes. They walked home on foot through a lovely night, a pleasant ending to an otherwise tedious day.

Wednesday, November 8:

Many, many errands in bad weather for clothes for the children; in the evening we went to a French theater and saw Les Danicheff; the arid French language sounds ludicrous in the play’s scenes of pathos. Home on foot, in a lovely night.
