Friday, April 21:

Lessons for the children; for R. nothing but ill tidings - Herr Unger arrives, but with a throat ailment! No word from [Marianne] Brandt, who should now be taking over Sieglinde, and - worst of all - Lilli Lehmann and [Minna] Lammert are being refused leave; Herr v. Hülsen is keeping the theater open until July 1!

Frau Grün informs us that Eilers (Fasolt) has heart trouble and is dangerously ill!! And on top of all this the state of the theater! ... But requests for accommodation are said to be arriving in great numbers.
