Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of December 29, 1875

Overview

Letters continue to demand her attention, from affectionate notes to practical business matters, while the children skate and Fidi remains a source of delight. She and R. take a long walk through the palace gardens, but conversation is difficult because too much remains unresolved and impossible to ignore.

Content

Wednesday, December 29:

Still writing letters until further notice! Friendly letters and business ones; among these last belongs an inquiry to Baron Seydlitz regarding the advance! Always delight in Fidi. The children skating!

In the evening went through some sonatas by Scarlatti, without great pleasure.

Went for a long walk in the palace gardens with R.; almost impossible to speak, our minds too full, we cannot ignore the embarrassing subjects, and what point in discussing those?
