Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of September 29, 1875

Overview

A letter from Feustel raises the prospect of buying horses, but the larger concern is Munich, where no answer has arrived and R. is still trying to be excused from paying patron money as originally contracted. The day is otherwise marked by the familiar frustration of waiting, offset only by a stream of foolish news from America.

Content

Wednesday, September 29:

Letter from friend Feustel, telling us about a good opportunity to buy horses. R. worried at receiving no reply from Munich; he has asked that we be excused from paying over money from the patrons, and that permission be given for using part of the credit for payments other than those laid down in the contract, for example, to Prof. Doepler.

The usual silence; instead, many absurdities from America.
