Saturday, May 30:
I have to write some notes about the theater for Boston; in the afternoon with Lusch to confession and absolution. R. speaks of her father and tells her he is hoping that, under his protection, she will prosper and become the future delight of her father. The child was very moved. I thank R. from the bottom of my heart for having brought me to this point.
Walked with my dearest one until late in the evening; he observes that all charming women (such as M[arie] D[onholf]) are trinkets, and compared with them I am like an elemental force, but all my strength comes from him!
