Rain hangs over the day, and they only manage a short walk before continuing on to Bremen. Public curiosity about Wagner follows them again, but the evening arrival is orderly, with theater representatives meeting them at the station. Saturday, December 7:
Constant wet weather! Toward midday we go for a little walk in the city and leave at 4 o’clock for Bremen, after having been bothered by the curiosity of the public, who had got wind of R.’s presence after all.
At 7 o’clock in Bremen, met by the theater director, two officials, etc.
