Diary Entry of July 16, 1872
Loldi’s illness and miserable weather kept the morning indoors, with Richard occupied by his work. Later he developed his orchestral plan for Wilhelmj, and the afternoon was spent again among the children at the Schweizerei. In the evening the Svendsens arrived and the first act of Siegfried was gone through, with Herr Rubinstein showing real understanding and careful handwriting.
Tuesday, July 16:
Loldi still unwell, and wretched weather; spent the morning indoors. Richard works. In the afternoon he works out his plan for the orchestra for Wilhelmj.
With the children in the Schweizerei; R. comes with Herr Rubinstein to join us. In the evening the Svendsens and the first act of Siegfried. Herr R. reveals great powers of understanding, and his handwriting in the copy is excellent.
